High winds, low temperatures, and tough course conditions are not usually the norm for this time of the year in South Florida. Although, these variables did not hold off an elite field of golfers in the 2013 Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
A star-studded group of the best PGA Tour players in the world traveled to the Champion Course at the PGA National Resort to compete in Jack Nicklaus’s annual tournament. With punishing conditions all week, it was sure to make for an exciting event.
The shot of the tournament came on the final day when Nuun fan Geoff Ogilvy, chipped in for a 41ft birdie behind the 16th green, to
put some pressure on leader Michael Thompson, sending a loud roar from the crowd throughout PGA National. Ogilvy went on to birdie 18 to finish with a final round score of 69, putting him alone in 2nd place. Congrats Geoff!
Although, it was not enough to overcome eventual winner Michael Thompson, who recorded his first PGA Tour win with a 69, one of only five rounds under par in the 4th round.
It was a very exciting tournament for Nuun users, with 7 Nuun fans finishing in the top 10. Way to go guys! Clearly it pays off to be properly hydrated! Here is a list of the notable finishers.
